About Us

My name is Marly Saraí, and I am the Hookah Specialist for Saraí's Smokey Joe's. I am an Afro-Latina (Puerto Rican) living in Charlotte, NC. I first began my journey into the world of hookah over 10 years ago. I love the culture, science, and practice behind it. I began my professional career as a Hookah Mixologist through my work at Al Basha Mediterranean Grill in 2017. I studied under the best, and learned how to prepare hookahs in an authentic, traditional Egyptian style. I pride myself on my skills in curating experiences and bringing people together.

 

My dedication to my craft is what drives my passion for creating unique experiences in relating to others in an exciting or relaxing setting. Smoking hookah should be an enjoyable experience at all times- and, it's actually vaping, not smoking. I know that some people have been led to believe that smoking hookah can be confusing, or difficult. But- It's easy! And I want for every one to have the opportunity to have a great time partaking in it, no matter the context or activity.

 

I started Saraí's Smokey Joe's as a traveling hookah bar to bring life to the party, bring friends together, and teach people things about hookah they may have otherwise never learned before.
